A Ukrainian drone attack on Novorossiysk killed an eight-year-old and wounded eight, including another child.
An overnight Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian Black Sea port city of Novorossiysk has resulted in the death of an eight-year-old child and injuries to eight other people, including another child, according to regional officials.
The strike, which occurred late Tuesday into Wednesday, caused significant damage to residential buildings and vehicles across the city. Video footage from the scene showed debris scattered inside a damaged home and the aftermath of the attack on local streets. Novorossiysk Mayor Andrey Kravchenko was seen speaking with residents in the affected areas.
Krasnodar region Governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported that several hundred Ukrainian drones were launched overnight, targeting Novorossiysk, Anapa, Gelendzhik, and the Temryuk region. In Novorossiysk, the falling drone debris struck residential structures, leading to the casualties.
In a separate incident in the village of Volna, located in the Temryuk region, a person wounded when a house was hit later died at a hospital, the governor added.
The attack was part of a broader wave of overnight strikes exchanged between Russia and Ukraine, continuing the pattern of long-range aerial assaults in the ongoing conflict.
