UN: Three Days of Attacks in Ukraine Kill Civilians, Hit Aid Operations

The United Nations has reported that a wave of attacks across Ukraine over the past three days has resulted in civilian casualties, including children, and caused significant damage to homes and critical infrastructure.

The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said the hostilities have disrupted essential services in at least nine regions, including Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odessa, Dnipro, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia. The information was shared by Ukrainian authorities with UN colleagues on the ground.

Humanitarian operations have also been directly affected. An attack in the city of Dnipro destroyed a World Health Organization (WHO) warehouse that was storing medical supplies intended for frontline health facilities. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in that incident.

In a separate incident on the same day, a humanitarian evacuation vehicle was damaged, and a truck operated by a local partner of the World Food Programme (WFP) was struck while transporting food in the Kherson region.

Despite the challenges, humanitarian organizations are continuing to provide emergency assistance, including first aid, psychosocial support, and essential supplies, to those affected by the recent attacks.
