University of Bristol Opens First Overseas Campus in Mumbai's Powai
The University of Bristol has launched its first international campus in Powai, Mumbai, offering programmes in Data Science, Economics, Finance and Immersive Arts.
The University of Bristol has opened its first international campus in Mumbai, with its inaugural batch of students now on campus. Named the Mumbai Enterprise Campus, the facility is located in Powai, close to IIT Bombay.
The campus will offer programmes in Data Science, Economics, Finance and Immersive Arts — fields that sit at the intersection of technology, business and the creative industries. The curriculum has been designed around the skills and knowledge demanded by India's evolving job market.
Beyond classroom teaching, students will have access to research, innovation, internship and industry-linked activities. The university said the Mumbai campus is intended to bring education, research and industry together, and it plans to collaborate with businesses and other organisations so that students can gain practical experience while they study.
The launch is also expected to deepen the university's academic and industry ties with India, with plans to work alongside local partners on research and innovation. For Indian students, the campus offers a route to study Bristol-designed programmes without leaving the country.
The move adds to the widening presence of international universities and global higher education institutions in India.
