UPESSC Opens Special TET 2026 Registrations for Working Teachers

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prayagraj, has commenced the online registration process for the Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Special TET) 2026 from September 5. This examination is intended for teachers currently serving at the primary and upper-primary levels in eligible schools across the state, including special educators working with Children with Special Needs (CWSN).

The application process is based on One Time Registration (OTR), which candidates must complete before proceeding with the application form. The commission has set October 4 as the final date for fee payment, while applicants may make corrections to their submitted forms until October 8. The Special TET 2026 examination is slated to be conducted on November 3.

According to the official notification, the test has been introduced to ensure that working teachers meet the prescribed eligibility standards. The exercise is expected to cover approximately 2,500 special teachers and assistant teachers (CWSN) at the primary and upper-primary levels.

Application Procedure

Eligible candidates are required to apply exclusively through the official UPESSC website at upessc.up.gov.in. Applications submitted through any other channel will not be considered. The step-by-step process is as follows:

• Visit the official UPESSC website.
• Complete the One Time Registration (OTR).
• Log in and select the Special TET 2026 application link.
• Fill in personal and eligibility details carefully.
• Working teachers must enter their eHRMS code where applicable.
• CWSN teachers should provide their active CRR number and RCI registration certificate details.
• Upload the required photograph, signature, and supporting documents in the specified formats.
• Pay the applicable examination fee online.
• Review all entries before final submission and retain the confirmation receipt.

The commission has cautioned that certain fields—including category, sub-category, date of birth, and gender—cannot be altered after final submission. Applicants are therefore advised to verify all information thoroughly before completing the process.
