U.P. Teacher Recruitment: Aspirants Push Back Over 12,000 Vacancies
Aspirants in Uttar Pradesh are pressing for a larger teacher recruitment drive, arguing that 12,000-odd advertised posts are inadequate after an eight-year gap.
A section of teaching aspirants in Uttar Pradesh has voiced dissatisfaction with the scale of the latest recruitment advertisement, arguing that the number of vacancies on offer is far too small to meet demand.
The recruitment drive, which comes after a gap of eight years, covers only around 12,000 posts. Aspirants contend that such a limited intake does not reflect the actual requirement across the state's schools.
A candidate based in Prayagraj said the government should instead issue a single, combined advertisement covering 60,000 posts, spanning both urban and rural areas. According to the aspirant, a joint notification of that size would address the backlog of candidates who have been waiting for recruitment to resume.
The demand reflects long-standing concerns among job seekers in the state, where teaching positions are keenly contested and recruitment cycles have been irregular. Aspirants have argued that a larger, unified drive would be more efficient than piecemeal advertisements.
There was no immediate indication of any change in the scope of the current recruitment exercise.
