UPSC Opens Engineering Services Exam 2027 Applications Today
UPSC has released the Engineering Services Examination 2027 notification, with applications open from September 16 to October 6, 2026, and the preliminary exam on January 31, 2027.
The Union Public Service Commission has released the notification for the Engineering Services Examination 2027, opening the application window for aspirants across the country. Candidates can access the notification and apply through the commission's official website, upsc.gov.in.
Applications will be accepted from September 16 to October 6, 2026. The preliminary examination is scheduled for January 31, 2027, and will be conducted in two sessions. Paper I will run from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, while Paper II will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm.
The preliminary test carries a total of 500 marks. Paper I accounts for 200 marks and covers General Studies and Engineering Aptitude, while Paper II carries 300 marks and is based on the candidate's chosen engineering discipline.
Eligibility
Applicants must be between 21 and 30 years of age, with age relaxation available to eligible candidates under government rules. A degree in engineering from a recognised university or institution is required, as specified in the notification. The official notification will detail the eligibility conditions and the reference date used to determine age and qualification.
Application Fee
In the 2025 Engineering Services Examination notification, the application fee was Rs 200, with female candidates, SC, ST and PwBD candidates exempted. Payment could be made through State Bank of India branches, credit or debit cards, UPI or internet banking. Candidates should consult the 2027 notification for the current fee structure.
