UPSC Opens Applications for 13 Posts Across Technical, Legal and Medical Roles

The Union Public Service Commission has begun accepting online applications for 13 government posts under advertisement no. 12/2026. The openings span technical, legal and medical roles, and candidates can register through the commission's online portal, upsconline.nic.in, until October 16, 2026 at 6 pm.

Vacancy break-up

The posts are distributed across four profiles in different departments:

• Junior Technical Officer: 1 post
• Assistant Legislative Council: 8 posts
• Law Officer: 3 posts
• Specialist Grade II (Junior Scale): 1 post

Eligibility

For the Junior Technical Officer position, applicants need a degree in Science or Engineering along with a postgraduate diploma in Sugar Technology from a recognised university. At least three years of relevant experience in teaching, research or advisory work in Sugar Technology is also required.

Those applying for the Assistant Legislative Council posts must hold a law degree from a recognised university and meet the prescribed professional experience requirement. The role involves legislative drafting and scrutiny of statutory rules and orders.

A law degree from a recognised institute or university is mandatory for the Law Officer post, together with two years of experience in legal work as a legal practitioner or in a government office.

Candidates for the Specialist Grade II (Junior Scale) post must possess a recognised medical qualification as well as a postgraduate degree.

Selection process

Shortlisting for the interview stage will be based on the details furnished in the application form and performance in a recruitment test, if one is held. The commission has cautioned that any false information or claim, detected at any stage or during the interview, can lead to rejection of candidature or debarment for a specified period or permanently.
