US Strike on Wedding Gathering in Southern Iran Kills Four

A US military strike has struck a home in the southern Iranian town of Kuhestak, where a wedding ceremony was underway, resulting in the deaths of four people. The casualties include a woman and a young child, according to Ahmad Nafisi, the deputy governor of Hormozgan Province.

Speaking to Iranian state television, Nafisi described the incident as an attack on a gathering of people who were celebrating a happy occasion. The strike occurred in the Sirik county area of the province.

The attack marks an escalation in the intermittent conflict between the United States and Iran, which has now persisted for over six months. The US military had conducted strikes on Iranian targets earlier in the week, prompting Tehran to respond with missiles and drones.
