Uttarakhand CM Declares 'Hanuman Ansh' Tax-Free After Screening

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended a screening of the film 'Hanuman Ansh' in Dehradun on Friday and announced that the movie would be made tax-free in the state. He described the film as a deeply spiritual and family-oriented work that should be watched by all, especially children.

Speaking to the media after the screening, Dhami said the film portrays the life and teachings of Baba Neem Karoli Maharaj, who is revered by many as an embodiment of Lord Hanuman. The Chief Minister noted that the film's connection to Uttarakhand's Kainchi Dham, a site closely linked to the saint, made it important for the state to ensure wide viewership.

"It is a spiritual and family-oriented movie; it beautifully illustrates how sincere devotion to God inevitably draws his blessings and grace," Dhami said. He added that the tax-free status would encourage more people in the state to see the film.

The Chief Minister watched the movie alongside his wife, Geeta Dhami, and other distinguished guests. Directed and written by Vishal Chaturvedi, 'Hanuman Ansh' focuses on the saint's simple message and his life, which remains untouched by power or politics, according to the film's synopsis.

The film is scheduled to release in international markets on September 11, with Hombale Films managing overseas distribution.

On the occasion of Janmashtami, Dhami also extended his best wishes to devotees of Lord Krishna, urging everyone to follow the path of righteousness as taught in the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita. He expressed hope that Uttarakhand would become an exemplary state and contribute to India's development under the Prime Minister's leadership.
