MDMA case accused stabbed outside Vadakara police station; partner held
A 22-year-old accused in the Vadakara MDMA case was stabbed outside the police station by her partner and later shifted to a Kozhikode hospital with serious injuries.
A 22-year-old woman accused in the Vadakara MDMA case was allegedly stabbed outside the Vadakara police station on Saturday morning, with police taking her partner into custody in connection with the attack.
The woman, K.C. Keerthana, had gone to the station to sign the register as one of the conditions set by the Kerala High Court when it granted her bail in the drug case. Police said Vineesh, described as her partner, was waiting near the station and picked an argument with her before attacking her with a weapon he was carrying.
Hearing the commotion, police personnel on duty rushed to the spot and took the man into custody.
Ms. Keerthana was first taken to the Vadakara taluk hospital. As her injuries were reported to be serious, she was later shifted to the Government Medical College Hospital in Kozhikode for further treatment.
A former special instructor with the Perambra Block Resource Centre, Ms. Keerthana is among five accused in the Vadakara MDMA case, which involves alleged drug-related financial transactions. The High Court had granted her bail subject to conditions that included reporting to the investigating officer.
