Venice Film Festival: Oppenheim's 'Primetime' Premieres, Oasis Doc Launches
Venice Film Festival's Saturday slate includes 'Primetime' premiere, Oasis documentary launch, and Nanni Moretti's return.
The Venice Film Festival is set for a packed Saturday, September 5, with several high-profile premieres and events scheduled on the Lido.
Lance Oppenheim's 'Primetime,' which has earned a Golden Lion nomination, will hold its press conference at 1330 GMT. The film, starring Robert Pattinson and Phoebe Bridgers, will have its world premiere in competition later in the day at 1700 GMT. Pattinson portrays TV host Chris Hansen in the feature.
At 1530 GMT, directors Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace will present their documentary 'Oasis: Don't Look Back in Anger' alongside the band. The Gallagher brothers are expected to bring a rock 'n' roll atmosphere to the festival as they launch the film, which chronicles their 2025 world tour, at an evening event scheduled for 2130 GMT.
Kiefer Sutherland and Ever Anderson will attend a press conference for the new movie 'Father Joe' at 1630 GMT.
Italian director Nanni Moretti returns to Venice with his romantic comedy 'It Will Happen Tonight,' which premieres in competition at 1900 GMT. The film stars Louis Garrel and Jasmine Trinca.
Additionally, Faye Dunaway is scheduled to receive a lifetime achievement award, while Nicola Peltz Beckham will be honored with a rising star award at the Kineo Awards ceremony.
Other festival highlights already covered include Paul Schrader's out-of-competition film 'The Basics of Philosophy,' Cédric Kahn's competition entry 'A Place to Heal,' and a discussion on AI featuring composer Alexandre Desplat at The Future of Creativity event.
