Vice-President to Open Rajagiri Engineering College Silver Jubilee Fete

Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan is set to inaugurate the silver jubilee celebrations of Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology in Kakkanad on Monday at 4 p.m. The ceremony will be held at the college auditorium, with Governor Rajendra Arlekar, Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan, Union Minister Suresh Gopi, State Minister Roji M. John, and Fr. Poulose Kidangen, the school's manager, in attendance. An industry-academia summit is also scheduled as part of the day's events.

Ahead of the Vice-President's visit, the police have announced traffic restrictions in Kochi city and its suburban areas on Monday. In the city, restrictions will be in effect from 12 noon to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on NH 544, the road from Kalamassery to the Government Medical College, the Seaport-Airport Road, and from Toshiba Junction to Infopark's west gate.

Vehicles on the Aluva-Edapally NH 544 will be diverted from Paravur Junction and Thottakattukara via the Container Road and NH 66, among other routes. Diversions will also be in place through Civil Line Road and the Edapally-Pookattupady Road. Police have warned that action will be taken against vehicles parked in an obstructive or haphazard manner.

In Ernakulam Rural, restrictions will be imposed on the Aluva-Angamaly NH 66. No vehicles will be permitted from Angamaly towards Aluva between 12.40 p.m. and 2 p.m., and vehicles from the international airport must use the Mattur–Nayathode route.
