Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay travelled to the Silverstone Circuit in the United Kingdom, where he served as guest of honour and waved the green flag to start the Michelin Le Mans Cup race. The 44-car grid included actor-racer Ajith Kumar, competing for his team, Ajith RedAnt by Virage.

A widely shared moment from the event showed Vijay running towards Ajith and embracing him, drawing attention across social media. The circuit's official Instagram account added to the buzz with a reel featuring Ajith and a caption referencing Vijay, asking whether the two had been in town.

The post triggered a flood of reactions from fans, with comments describing the pairing as a rare and emotional sight.

Actress Trisha Krishnan was also present, seen in the grandstands alongside Vijay and Minister Aadhav Arjuna, cheering for Ajith during the race. She was additionally spotted in the paddock in videos circulating online. Trisha has been in London for the shoot of an upcoming project.

Beyond the celebrity turnout, Vijay's visit carried an official purpose. His UK trip includes a study of international sports infrastructure as part of efforts to support the development of a proposed Motor Sports City in Tamil Nadu.
