Vijayan asserted that his daughter's financial dealings with CMRL were entirely legitimate, conducted through proper banking channels and fully compliant with tax regulations. He maintained that the ED's own examination of the matter had not produced any incriminating evidence against him or his kin.
He accused the central agency of now resorting to a fresh strategy, claiming it has forwarded a set of "brazenly false" accusations to the Special Prosecutor. Vijayan suggested this new move is aimed at fulfilling the political objectives of those controlling the agency, rather than pursuing genuine legal findings.
The development comes at a politically sensitive time, with the newly formed UDF government in Kerala yet to announce its decision on the ED's demand. Vijayan's remarks signal a firm refusal to accept the agency's latest claims, framing the entire exercise as an attempt to weaponise investigative bodies for political ends.
