Vikram's Chiyaan 63 titled Power House; teaser reveals catering-service double life

Tamil star Vikram's next film with director Anand Shankar has been titled Power House, with a teaser showing him as a caterer hiding a violent secret.

Tamil actor Vikram's upcoming film with director Anand Shankar now has a title. The makers unveiled Power House on Vinayaka Chaturthi, Monday, September 14, releasing a title announcement teaser alongside. The project, earlier referred to as Chiyaan 63, is set to arrive in 2027.

The teaser casts Vikram as the man behind Nalla Thambi Catering Service, a family-run operation that includes his sister, played by Riya Shibu, and his mother, essayed by Urvashi. He is shown supervising arrangements for a wedding before walking into a dark passage at the rear of the house. There, in a storage room, he has a man tied to a chair and another suspended upside down from the ceiling. When the hanging man grunts and struggles at the sight of him, Vikram's character reassures him that he has only just begun cooking and promises to send him back after a full meal, with a hundred per cent guarantee.

As with earlier teasers for Vikram's films, the clip holds back details of the plot. The phrase "power house" has been familiar in Tamil pop culture since the 2025 Rajinikanth release Coolie, where it served as a codeword that unleashed the protagonist's violent side. How it connects to this film's story has not been disclosed.

The cast also includes MS Bhaskar, Shammy Thilakan, VTV Ganesh and Samyuktha Hegde. Santhosh Narayanan handles the music, RD Rajasekar is the cinematographer and Raymond Derrick Crasta the editor. Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan produce under the Sathya Jyothi Films banner.

Power House marks Vikram's second outing with Anand Shankar, following Iru Mugan in 2016. The actor also has a project with Bodi Rajkumar in the works. He was earlier set to collaborate with Madonne Ashwin, known for Mandela and Maaveran, and with Prem Kumar of 96 and Meiyazhagan fame, but both films are reported to have been shelved.
