Vishal Mishra to Hold Benefit Concerts for Nepal and Assam Flood Victims

Singer Vishal Mishra has announced plans to perform two special concerts to support people affected by the devastating floods in Nepal and Assam. In a social media post, Mishra expressed his distress over the situation, saying his "heart is heavy" and that he has decided to organize one concert in Nepal and another in Assam, with all proceeds going directly to flood relief efforts.

"Every single penny will go towards flood relief and the people affected. I give you my word," Mishra wrote, adding a message of solidarity: "Stay strong, will do whatever I can individually, Har Har Mahadev."

The announcement has drawn praise from fans and fellow artists, including singer Badshah, who commented, "Bhai with you on this." While specific dates, venues, and arrangements for the concerts have not yet been revealed, the initiative highlights the urgent need for support for flood-hit communities.

The announcement comes as India continues to extend assistance to Nepal following a massive flood-related tragedy. Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh said India has been closely monitoring the situation and providing all possible help, including a 24-hour helpline set up by the Indian embassy. The death toll in Nepal's Bhotekoshi flood disaster has reached 626, with 2,426 people still missing, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.

Meanwhile, several parts of Assam are still grappling with the aftermath of floods that have caused widespread damage to homes, farmland, and livestock. Mishra's initiative adds to the growing chorus of support for those affected by the twin disasters.
