Vivek Oberoi Donates Entire Ramayana Fee to Treat 50 Children With Cancer

Vivek Oberoi has turned his 50th year into an occasion for philanthropy, taking responsibility for the treatment of 50 children battling cancer. The actor acted on Cancer Rose Day, honouring a commitment he had made last year.

The pledge dates to October 2025, when Oberoi said he would forgo his entire fee for Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, which also features Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi. He had decided the money would go instead to children undergoing cancer treatment.

Explaining the choice at the time, Oberoi said he had told producer Namit Malhotra that he did not want any payment for the film and wished to direct the amount to a cause he believed in. He also spoke of his desire to back Malhotra's vision for the project, which he felt could place Indian cinema on the global stage.

Nearly a year on, that commitment has been fulfilled. The donation converts his earnings from one of his most high-profile upcoming films into support for young patients and their families.

The move builds on Oberoi's long association with initiatives for cancer patients, of which the Ramayana decision was a continuation. By linking the contribution to his 50th birthday, he has ensured the promise made publicly in 2025 has translated into tangible assistance for 50 children in their fight against the disease.
