Vizag readies for CM visit: 26,426 house-site pattas to be distributed on September 19
Officials in Visakhapatnam are preparing to hand out 26,426 house-site pattas during the Chief Minister's September 19 visit, alongside a beach-cleaning initiative.
Arrangements for the Chief Minister's programmes in Visakhapatnam on September 19 were reviewed on Tuesday, with the district in-charge Minister, Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, and MP M. Sribharat directing officials and public representatives to work in coordination.
The two leaders, who joined a review meeting chaired by Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore virtually, said care must be taken to ensure that every eligible beneficiary receives a house-site patta from the Chief Minister. Officials were told to draw up beneficiary lists for each constituency, send out invitations in advance, and inform recipients about the galleries allotted to them and the routes they should take to the venue.
The distribution of house-site pattas and conveyance deeds will cover 26,426 identified beneficiaries spread across seven Assembly constituencies. The event is to be held at the Andhra University College of Engineering grounds.
A Swarna Andhra-Swachh Andhra programme will also be organised along Beach Road as part of the Sagara Swachhata initiative. The Nirmal Sagar pilot project, which covers beach cleaning, recycling of marine waste and the creation of livelihood opportunities, is to be launched during the programme. A Central government secretary and representatives of the United Nations Development Programme are expected to take part, the Collector said, adding that the venue for the Sagara Swachhata programme is yet to be finalised.
Government Whip and Visakhapatnam West MLA P.G.V.R. Naidu (Ganababu), Police Commissioner Shankhabrata Bagchi and GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg were among those present at the meeting, along with other officials and public representatives.
