Vizag MP Sribharat pushes for VSP revival, raises staff transfer and train halt issues

Visakhapatnam MP Sribharat has expressed confidence that the ₹14,000-crore revival package for the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) will yield results once the plant returns to profitability. He conveyed this optimism following a meeting with the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the parent company of VSP.
The MP's discussions come at a critical juncture for the steelmaker, which has been navigating financial headwinds. Sribharat's engagement with the RINL leadership appears focused on ensuring the effective implementation of the revival strategy and tracking its progress toward sustainable operations.
In a separate interaction, Sribharat took up several administrative matters with the General Manager of the South Central Railway (SCoR). A key issue raised was the pending transfer requests of employees currently posted in the Rayagada Division. The MP is understood to have sought expedited action on these requests.
Additionally, Sribharat urged the railway authorities to consider a halt for Vande Bharat trains at the Duvvada station. A stoppage at Duvvada is seen as a significant convenience for commuters in the region, potentially improving connectivity for the industrial belt surrounding Visakhapatnam.
