Composer Sargam Vaish Says His Song Was Used in Vvaan Trailer Without Consent
Composer Sargam Vaish has alleged that his original song was used in the trailer of The Vvaan - Force Of The Forrest without his permission or consent.
A dispute has broken out over the trailer of the upcoming film The Vvaan - Force Of The Forrest, with vocalist and composer Sargam Vaish alleging that one of his original songs was used in the promo without his permission or consent.
Vaish raised the matter on Instagram on Sunday, saying he had come across the official trailer and recognised his music in it. He identified the portion of the trailer where he believes the song appears and played the corresponding section in a video to illustrate the alleged use.
In the caption of his post, Vaish said the track, Aigiri Nandini, had been in the works for three years. He stated that he had not granted permission for his music to be used in the trailer or for its promotion, and asked the team behind the film to remove it and to contact him directly.
He also said the work had already been signed with a major music label, and that the unauthorised use could affect his existing contract. Vaish added that he would appreciate being given details of any valid permission or licence obtained for the song's use, and urged his followers to share the post so that it reaches the concerned people.
So far, the allegations rest on Vaish's Instagram statement. No response from the makers of The Vvaan - Force Of The Forrest has been available.
The film stars Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead roles and is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar.
