WBNUJS Merges OBC-A and OBC-B into Single Category for CLAT 2027

WBNUJS, Kolkata, has replaced OBC-A and OBC-B with a combined OBC category for CLAT 2027 UG and PG admissions. Candidates must edit forms by Oct 31, 2026.

The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata, has revised its reservation framework for candidates applying through CLAT 2027. The university has scrapped the separate OBC-A and OBC-B categories for West Bengal domicile applicants, replacing them with a single, unified OBC classification.

The change applies to both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes offered at WBNUJS. The updated seat matrix is now available in the WBNUJS brochure, which can be accessed on the Consortium of National Law Universities' website under the 'Participating Universities' section.

Candidates who had earlier selected either OBC-A or OBC-B as their reservation category must log in to their CLAT 2027 application and modify their choice to the new combined OBC option. The deadline for making this correction is October 31, 2026.

To update the application, candidates should visit the official Consortium website (consortiumofnlus.ac.in), log in to their CLAT account, and click on 'Edit Application Form'. After selecting WBNUJS, Kolkata, they must answer the domicile question and choose the applicable category from the drop-down menu before submitting the changes.

Applicants encountering technical issues while updating their reservation category can seek assistance by emailing the Consortium at clat@consortiumofnlus.ac.in or by calling the helpdesk at 080-47162020.
