Widow's Bay Team Celebrates Emmy Wins as Dippold Thanks Online Supporters

The team behind Widow's Bay celebrated its Emmy wins in Los Angeles, with creator Katie Dippold and actor Matthew Rhys speaking backstage about the recognition.

Dippold said she had meant to thank the many people who helped spread word about the show early on, including reviewers and those discussing it online. She described their support as instrumental in building an audience and said the team was deeply grateful.

Rhys added a light moment to the exchange, joking that those early advocates were "predominantly our parents."

Dippold also reflected on the collaborative nature of the production, describing how the cast, writers and crew constantly worked to find the right tone. She recalled a particularly hectic day while filming the eighth episode, when director Andy DeYoung was shooting a scene of Cato Flynn walking fearfully through a hallway at the same time that Hiro Murai, Christian and Rhys were outside filming a large storm sequence. "I was like, this is madness," she said.

Dippold, Rhys and Hiro Murai were later photographed together with their Emmy statuettes.
