Xi and Jordan's King Abdullah Hold Talks, Sign Cooperation Deals in Beijing

Chinese President Xi Jinping hosted a formal welcome ceremony for Jordan's King Abdullah II at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Monday, marking the conclusion of the Jordanian monarch's seven-day visit to China.

The ceremony was followed by bilateral talks and a signing ceremony where the two leaders witnessed the exchange of several cooperation documents spanning diplomacy, trade and economy, industrial and supply chains, and judicial matters.

During their meeting, Xi characterized the China-Jordan relationship as a "vivid example" of win-win cooperation between nations of different sizes and social systems. He expressed China's readiness to enhance strategic mutual trust and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with Jordan, while also strengthening coordination on multilateral platforms to further develop the strategic partnership between the two countries.

King Abdullah voiced respect for China's development model and economic growth, as well as its leadership on the international stage. He noted that the two sides had engaged in in-depth discussions on expanding cooperation in key sectors including agriculture, technology, pharmaceuticals, tourism, education, and culture.

On regional matters, the king stated that Jordan and China share a common view on the need to achieve "comprehensive calm and stability" in the Middle East, allowing the region's people to live in peace and prosperity.

Prior to his arrival in the capital, Abdullah had visited Shanghai and Shenzhen, where he explored opportunities to deepen economic cooperation with China.
