Yemen's Government Forces Release Footage of Operations in Hazm

Yemen's internationally recognized government armed forces released video on Wednesday showing what they described as military operations in eastern Hazm city, in the northern province of Jawf.

The footage showed soldiers advancing and firing their weapons, supported by tanks and armored vehicles, with black smoke visible rising in the distance. In some clips, troops could be heard shouting in Arabic as they moved forward.

The material was broadcast by the Yemeni armed forces. The dates, locations and conditions under which the videos were shot could not be independently verified.

Separately, the Iran-backed Houthi rebel group took control on Thursday of Yemen's port city of Mokha, according to Houthi and Yemeni officials. The city lies about 80 kilometers (50 miles) from the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, a key waterway linking the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

The takeover was confirmed by Ahmed Baash, a commander with the National Resistance Forces, and Hazam al-Assad, a member of the Houthis' political bureau.
