Strike in Yemen's Taiz Province Kills Four, Houthi-Run Health Ministry Says

A strike on a home in southwestern Yemen's Taiz province killed three women and an elderly man, the Houthi-run Ministry of Health said, adding that three other people were injured.

The ministry said the attack hit a residence in Kadhah, in western Taiz. It was not immediately clear whether the strike took place on Monday, when the statement was issued.

Footage aired by a Houthi-controlled satellite news channel showed what it described as a partially destroyed block of rural, single-storey homes. In the video, family members could be seen sifting through debris and pulling the bodies of those killed from beneath the rubble. The channel also reported damage to livestock and beehives, describing them as a source of income for residents.

The reported strike comes amid intense fighting between Houthi rebels and Saudi-backed government forces around Taiz province and further east. The clashes follow the Iran-backed rebels' capture of the strategic city of Mokha on the Red Sea coast weeks earlier.

The claims made by the Houthi-run ministry and the Houthi-controlled channel could not be independently verified, including the dates, locations and conditions under which the footage was shot.
