India, US Armies Showcase Joint Firepower at Mahajan Range During Yudh Abhyas 2026
Indian and US Army personnel staged a joint firing demonstration at the Mahajan Field Firing Range during Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2026, with the US Ambassador and a senior Indian Army commander in attendance.
Indian and United States Army personnel carried out a joint firing demonstration at the Mahajan Field Firing Range on Thursday, as part of Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2026. The event was witnessed by US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor and Lieutenant General Vikrant Suresh Deshpande, General Officer Commanding, 10 Corps.
The display brought together a wide array of Indian artillery, aviation, air-defence and surveillance assets. These included the Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launcher, the M777 ultra-light howitzer and the Dhanush artillery system. AH-64E Apache attack helicopters, L70 air-defence guns and Swathi weapon-locating radars also took part.
From the American side, the HIMARS rocket artillery system and the M-LIDS counter-drone platform were fielded, adding to the mix of capabilities exercised in the demanding field environment.
The Indian Army said the training highlighted the two armies' capacity to plan, coordinate and execute complex operations together. It noted that the exercise enhanced interoperability, professional trust and mutual confidence between the forces.
According to the Indian Army, Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2026 continues to reinforce the enduring partnership between the two armies, built on shared training, camaraderie and the confidence to operate together in increasingly complex battlespaces.
