Zack Snyder's Jungle Thriller 'The Last Photograph' to Premiere at TIFF

Zack Snyder's upcoming thriller, 'The Last Photograph', is set to make its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The screening is scheduled for September 12 at the John Bassett Theatre within the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

The film will be presented as an acquisition title at TIFF: The Market, the festival's inaugural official content market. Currently, the project has no studio or streaming platform attached, making the festival a key venue for securing a distributor.

'The Last Photograph' marks a departure from Snyder's previous work on large-scale genre films. It is an independent, jungle-set thriller starring Stuart Martin and Fra Fee. The narrative follows an ex-DEA agent who journeys to the mountains of South America to locate his missing niece and nephew after the murder of their diplomat parents.

According to the film's synopsis, the operative seeks the help of a war photographer struggling with addiction, who is the only person able to identify the killers. Their journey forces both men to confront their pasts and the line between reality and illusion.

Snyder developed the story himself, with the project in development since the mid-2000s. He co-wrote the screenplay with frequent collaborator Kurt Johnstad. Martin and Fee previously worked with Snyder on his 'Rebel Moon' films.
