Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with senior US envoys in Kyiv on Saturday, expressing gratitude to former President Donald Trump for facilitating the American delegation's presence in the country.
The meeting included Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who arrived in the Ukrainian capital following discussions in Russia. Zelenskyy described their visit as crucial, noting that having Trump's chief negotiators in Ukraine after their Moscow talks was an important step.
During the encounter, Zelenskyy also indicated that preparations are underway for a third round of discussions involving representatives from the E3 group — Britain, France, and Germany. He welcomed the continued European engagement, stressing the importance of working within a circle of allied nations to bring the war to an end.
The meeting was held with flags of both nations displayed, and was attended by journalists covering the diplomatic exchange. The talks mark a continued push for a negotiated settlement, with both American and European officials actively involved in the process.
