India and Japan to enhance mutual cooperation to strengthen maritime security

India and Japan have decided to expand their bilateral ties with the objective of further strengthening the security framework in the Indo-Pacific region. Both countries will accelerate joint efforts to protect maritime borders and improve strategic coordination. Under this new initiative, priority will be given to shared cooperation and continuous dialogue in the maritime security sector, thereby reinforcing peace and stability across the entire region.
